Plus+ 2008 - call for help…

We are exhibiting at Plus+ International Design Expo (youplusus.net) next month. As ever, time is running away from us and we still have a number of vital bits to sort in order to complete our exhibit. We are looking for two things to help us complete our piece:

  1. a mannequin – full sized / male or female. (If by any chance anyone has a reflective mannequin that would be a mega bonus!)
  2. any ‘discarded design’ fellow designers / artists / companies have that they want to get rid of – things like demo prints / failed pitch designs / overruns on brochures etc…

All ‘discarded design’ pieces will be used in complete confidence but it will not be possible to return these as they will be ripped / squashed / bent (etc.) and they will be on display as part of our exhibit - so please don’t offer us anything you aren’t happy being used in this way, or put on display. We’ll gladly accept test prints (etc.) or any other wasted design.

The mannequin will be returned after the exhibition. All ‘discarded design’ pieces will be recycled after Plus+ has ended.

Also, as part of our collection of ‘discarded design’ we will be out and about cleaning up some parts of Birmingham, so if anyone has any suggestions for an area near/dear to them that could do with a litter collection, let us know.

If anyone can help us with these items, could they please email Sam (sam@stereographic.co.uk) so we can make the necessary arrangements to come and pick stuff up :)

Colour of Music

Find out what happened when we cut up 10,000 sticky vinyl letters for our experimental interactive stand at the brilliant international design festival Plus+ in the beautiful backwaters of Digbeth, Birmingham.

The results are certainly interesting, if not as we expected! They’ve all been captured on film and edited together to some lovely music.

Just pop along to stereographic.co.uk/plus07 to see for yourself.
